About the Author ~

Marlo Schalesky is the author of several books, including Beyond the Night and Empty Womb, Aching Heart. A graduate of Stanford University, Marlo also has a masters of theology with an emphasis in biblical studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Married over twenty years, she lives with her husband, Bryan, and their five children in California.


My Review:

I thouroughly enjoyed Shades of Morning!! Marnie Wittier is a woman who is determined to live life according to HER way! That in itself had me "speaking to this character!" LOL Pleading with her to allow God to work instead of her stubborness ;) The story was a bit slow in parts for me but in the end I REALLY enjoyed reading this book and NEVER saw the end coming! What a glorious ending! You will fall in love with Emmit and his innocence speaks volumes! I appreciate how well written the characteristics of a child with Downs' Syndrome was - loving, stubborn, and very determined! This is a story of Gods never ending Love and desire to help us be all the HE desires for us to be! His pursuit of us to restore us to HIMSELF is beautifully written!

I also have to mention Cathy Bryant, Gina Holmes and Christina Berry ~ They all just debuted their first Novels this past year and every single one of them are amazing writers and I LOVED their books!

If you want to get to know Pam & Mark Walker and visit their wonderful town Lumby ~ this is the series for you! You will fall in Love! I am looking forward to reading all of the previous books as well! You just have to learn about the town mascot and so many other fabulous people in this community!! I have almost completed this book and I am thoroughly enjoying it! I wanted to make sure and share my review with you all today since it is available to all ~ as of today :)


This books finds Mark and Pam celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary along with a weeklong family reunion and ceremony to renew their vows as well! You will laugh during the Chainsaw sculpting contest and love the Newspaper excerpts! Lumby is a wonderful community, filled with charm and will draw you in and might even make you wish to move there :) I want to thank FSB Associates for sending me a complimentary book for review in return for my humble opinion!

HUCK ~ Review

I am a HUGE fan of a books COVER! This book "HUCK" sold me from the moment my eyes laid on it!! Isn't he one of the most adorable dogs you have ever seen???

"Huck The Remarkable True Story of How One Last Puppy Taught a Family - and a Whole Town - about Hope and Happy Endings written by Janet Elder is a beautiful story!

Janet's son Michael, longs for a dog for years of his early childhood! He begs, pleads, and does what most little boys do to try and persuade their parents to give in! After years of saying NO, Janet finds herself pondering the idea! Huck is the story of how one family comes together in the face of a Cancer diagnosis and allows the love of one little puppy to teach them and others about Love, kindness and determination! A community comes together in ways that forever change Janet's family and will encourage you as well!

I found Huck to be a very fast read! I am an animal lover myself and fell in love with this sweet little dog named Huck! I would highly recommend this book to everyone! Adults and children alike! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I started this book blog because I wanted people who truly love reading to enjoy my book reviews! (not just enduring them LOL) So instead of sharing them on my Family Blog I decided to start this blog and am sooo very happy I have! Melanie Dobson is the award-winning author of The Black Cloister; Love Finds You in Liberty, Indiana; and Together for Good.



Prior to launching Dobson Media Group in 1999, Melanie was the corporate publicity manager at Focus on the Family where she was responsible for the publicity of events, products, films, and TV specials. Melanie received her undergraduate degree in journalism from Liberty University and her master's degree in communication from Regent University. She has worked in the fields of publicity and journalism for fifteen years including two years as a publicist for The Family Channel.



Melanie and her husband, Jon, met in Colorado Springs in 1997 at Vanguard Church. Jon works in the field of computer animation. Since they've been married, the Dobsons have relocated numerous times including stints in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Colorado, Berlin, and Southern California. These days they are enjoying their new home in the Pacific Northwest.

Camden is your average homeless person: jobless, homeless, and broke. She decides maybe she can get some refuge from her grandma that she hasn't seen in a very long time. But what she doesn't know is her grandmother passed away and left her the mansion on Crescent Hill. SWEET right? Your homeless, no job, money, but WAIT your grandmother left you a HUGE house. YES! But wait, there's a catch. Is she the only one in the house? Are the secrets from what really happened on Crescent Hill haunting her? Are her grandmothers old stories coming back to get her? I guess you'll just have to read to find out....

GREAT BOOK! A must pick up and never put down!
