My Review:

This is the First book in the Glenbrooke Series and also the first book that I have read from Robin Jones Gunn. I have to say she did not disappoint. I enjoyed this book. Jessica learns many valuable lessons in life. Secrets take us places we don't want to be and cause you to go deeper and deeper into darkness. She strives to do things on her own and in time learns to depend on others and the Lord. Secrets is a book that would be great for new believers or even for those that aren't as it teaches truths that everyone can learn from.

Deep Harbor

The Northern Lights Series
Book Two

“Lisa Tawn Bergren has a straightforward, evocative style of writing that makes her characters breathe. They walk right across the page and straight into your heart.” –Francine Rivers, author of Redeeming Love

SOME TIES CAN NEVER BE BROKEN

As they build new lives in America, Tora, Elsa, Kaatje, and Karl each experience a personal tragedy that threatens to destroy everything they left Norway to find. Tora’s web of lies has cost her a successful future with the man she loves. When tragedy strikes, Elsa must draw upon her faith and the strength she can muster to discover who she is and the path she must follow. After her husband’s disappearance, Kaatje struggles to raise two young daughters and tend her farm, and Karl finds himself caught in a life of loneliness and emptiness. Only by placing their trust in God—and in each other—will they pass through these rough waters and find the safety of the harbor.

From the richly forested banks of the Washington Territory to the burgeoning city of Yokohama and across the turbulent, danger-filled waves of the open sea—experience the epic saga of perseverance, pain, faith, and calling in the Northern Lights series.

“I found myself immediately involved in the stories of Elsa and Peder, Kaatje and her wayward husband, Soren, Tora and her quest for wealth and power, and a host of other people who sailed with them to America to fulfill their dreams. Lisa Tawn Bergren has a straightforward, evocative style of writing that makes her characters breathe. They walk right across the page and straight into your heart.”
—Francine Rivers, author

“Pick of the month. 4 1⁄2 stars! Lisa Tawn Bergren is a rare talent in historical fiction, writing with exquisite style as she immerses lucky readers in the powerful emotions of her full-bodied characters. Stay tuned for the next book to continue this exciting trilogy.”

My Review:

I am soooo thankful to share this book with you all! I have been so encouraged by this book on a few levels ~ One being, Gods timing is perfect! He is with us even when we feel lost, alone and far from HIM. He waits like the loving Father that HE is, for us to seek HIM and HE is ready with Forgiveness when we humble ourselves and repent and have the desire to live life with HIM in all our endeavors.
Deep Harbor is set in the 1800's and is full of adventure for these characters, along with much heartache. You will fall in love with these strong women and men and learn from them as well. Deep Harbor shares examples of redemption, humility, and determination to go on despite some very difficult situations. I simply cannot wait until the 3rd book comes out!!

Thankyou Waterbrookmultnomah for blessing me with a complimentary copy of this book. In return I share this humble opinion.

The Familiar Stranger

I have wanted to share this review for a very long time! This book is one of my Favorite books! I was unable to participate in the Book Tour due to the situation at the time with my Dad. So without further ado....

Craig and Denise Middleton are the average couple. He has a thriving dental business and she is a mom to their children doing what moms do....carpooling, supporting their kids, the husbands along with being involved in their church. Denise believes their marriage is going along just fine but she receives a devastating phone call during the middle of church that Craig has been in an accident! She rushes to the hospital and the world as she knew it begins to unravel, one bit of information at a time!

Sunday morning when Craig woke up he decided he did not want to go to church. He wanted some time to just be alone and although he did ask his boys if they wanted to join him, they declined knowing their mother would not want them to miss church. Craig sets off to his plans for the day.....this will take you on a journey from that page forward!

This book was absolutely hard for me to put down! It was a mystery full of marriage issues along with secrets, deceptions, and learning forgiveness and will keep you guessing until the very end!!

Here is the book info from the back cover:
Craig Littleton's decision to end his marriage would shock his wife, Denise . . . if she knew what he was up to. When an accident lands Craig in the ICU, with fuzzy memories of his own life and plans, Denise rushes to his side, ready to care for him.

They embark on a quest to help Craig remember who he is and, in the process, they discover dark secrets. An affair? An emptied bank account? A hidden identity? An illegitimate child?

But what will she do when she realizes he's not the man she thought he was? Is this trauma a blessing in disguise, a chance for a fresh start? Or will his secrets destroy the life they built together?

This book is such a great book and I highly recommend it! It is Christina Berry's first novel and I am soooo excited to see what she comes out with next

Gods Little Princess Devotional

This devotional is just adorable! I will be reading this over and over to my grand daughter! I would have loved to have had a book like this when I was a young girl. To read and to hear the words about how the Lord loves me, how HE cherishes me, who I am in HIM and to share other stories devoted to just that is worth so very much. Knowing that I can read these devotions with my grandaughter and other little girls who might come over just brings me so much joy. Sharing Gods word is something Shelia Walsh does so very well and this cute book is no exception! I highly recommend this book for mothers, aunts, grandmothers, mothers to be or nannies, or daycare providers! Everyone will enjoy sharing this book!

Thank you Thomas Nelson for providing a complimentary copy of this book to me in return I am sharing my humble opinion with you!
