My friend Heather from
Proud Book Nerd is sharing a meme today about supporting Childrens literature. What a great meme to be a part of! I love to see Children reading and honestly reading is something my Son and I share. It is one of our favorite things to do together. Besides spending a day at Barnes & Noble we love to sit outside or lay in bed and just read!!! It.is.heavenly!
So here he is giving you his first review:
Hey everyone! Call me Jantz. This book is The Journal of Scott Pendleton Collins authored by Walter Dean Myers. I picked this book because I am a WWII fanatic. First all let me say, AMAZING BOOK. I could not put it down. I loved the action of this book. He shares the personal feelings of Scott and he describes the bloodthirstiness of war. The author held nothing back- it was brutal and truthful! Its about a young man in England in 1944 and his time in the army, day by day. His battles mentally and physically are very harsh, unmerciful, and rough. Fighting day after day takes a toll. As with any war story, getting attached to any of the characters is not wise. Very good read. VERY HIGHLY recommended. I do think you should at least read a little bit up on WWII. Some terms are used that you might not understand. Overall great book 6/5 stars!
Thank you Jantzen for sharing your opinion of this book! You did great!

YAY!! Great review, Jantz!! I will have to check that one out for my boys!! So glad he loves reading. I wanted one of mine to have a love for reading like me!! Struck out with the older three, but Adam and Isaac love it!!
Three cheers for you Jantz! You did an excellent job. And when I read your mother's comment about spending a day together at the book store, I thought:"A man after my own heart." I want to encourage you to read as much as possible and in many different areas of interest. I read almost everything I can put my hands on and always have. Later in life you will look back and be grateful for all the great books you have been privileged to read. You may even become a writer of books yourself. God bless you Jantz as you read, study, grow and live for HIM.
LOL I just read your comment on my book blog and you totally crack me up! LOL Stalk me all you want! ;-) I will admit, the self-help books are a different beast. I will SOMETIMES write in those. I hated writing in books during college. And dog ears - YIKES! Shame on you! ;-)
What an awesome review Jantzen! I have two boys that would probably love to dig into this book as well. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome review, thank you.
Great review Jantz! My husband would sooo love this book!!!
This was such a good review Jantz...I have a guy in mind I know will enjoy it too. I smiled when I read what your mom wrote about sharing a day at Barnes and Noble. I too have a son (grown adult now) who shares my love of reading and our idea of heaven is this store. We can browse for hours and have even made ourselves comfortable in the recliners there and sipped coffee while we read. = ) What a wonderful world reading opens up. Soo glad to hear you enjoy it too.
Good job on this review, Jantz!!
What a great review. So will you be hosting a blog with your mom or getting your own? If you really like WW2 stuff when you and your family come to California, my brother collects WW2 stuff and perhaps we can take some pictures of you in them.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
You're an awesome book reviewer Jantz! In fact, you've piqued my interest, & I would love to borrow this book some time, if that's ok with you.
Love,
Your Nanny (aka, Nan Pan) :)
