My Review:
Regrets ~ they are awful to carry, and Anna has her share of them. After losing her mother and returning to her childhood home, Anna is faced with the reality of her situation. She has been under the thumb per se' of her evil (my opinion) mother-in-law and makes a decision to turn the home into a INN. Ann lost her husband at a very young age and has had strained relationships mostly ever since. But slowly as she spends time in the beauty of her land, and with her new friend Hazel, things begin to change.
The beginning of Anna's story is sad and hard to read. It is never easy in life (or in a book) to see someone be "ruled over" the way Anna was. But in this case, I think Melody Carlson built a great foundation as to the very deep and dark place Anna felt she was in. Watching Anna break free is a beautiful transformation and one that will encourage all who read her story!

This book was truly a breath of fresh air for me. I was so immersed in the story that when I stopped, I was disappointed to find myself not beside the Siuslaw River being lulled into peace and refreshment of my soul. However, I walked away with such a smile, it made my night. Amazing story and can't wait to read book 2 either!
